Terms of Service

Plain English: Use Crescendo fairly, don't abuse the AI credits system, and don't do anything illegal. Your content is yours — we just store it to provide the service. We provide the service as-is.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Crescendo mobile application ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all users. We may update them at any time. Continued use after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Crescendo. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and truthful.

3. Your Account

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately at hello@crescendosocial.com if you suspect unauthorized access
  • One account per person — you may not create accounts on behalf of others without their consent
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms

4. AI Credits & Subscriptions

Certain features (resume analysis, optimization, interview prep quizzes, cover letter generation, rejection insights) consume AI credits ("Credits"). We also offer premium subscription tiers.

  • Free accounts receive a starting allocation of Credits upon registration
  • Additional Credits or premium subscriptions may be purchased through in-app purchases (Apple App Store or Google Play) or our payment partners
  • Subscriptions & Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Manage or cancel directly through your Apple ID, Google Play account, or web billing settings
  • Refunds: Purchases made via mobile app stores are handled entirely by Apple or Google. Please refer to the respective store's refund policies
  • Credits are non-transferable and have no cash value
  • Credits expire only upon account deletion — not at the end of the billing period for paid plans
  • We do not offer refunds for Credits consumed by completed AI operations
  • If an AI operation fails before completion due to a service error on our side, Credits will not be deducted

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
  • Attempt to bypass, circumvent, or exploit the AI credits system or subscription limits
  • Upload malicious content, viruses, or harmful code
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Upload content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others
  • Use AI features to generate misleading, fraudulent, or harmful content
  • Share or resell access to your account

Third-Party Content & URL Import: When using features that import data from external job boards or websites, you represent that you have the right to access and import that data. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of such features complies with the terms of those third-party sites.

6. Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you upload or create in Crescendo — including your resumes, job application notes, and career data ("Your Content").

By using the Service, you grant Crescendo a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, process, and transmit Your Content solely as necessary to provide the Service features you request (for example, sending your resume to our AI provider for analysis).

We do not claim ownership of Your Content, do not sell it to third parties, and do not use it to train AI models.

7. AI-Generated Content

AI features in Crescendo generate content (analysis results, optimized resumes, quiz questions, cover letters) based on your inputs. You acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated content may not always be accurate, complete, or suitable for your situation
  • You are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated content before using it in any application
  • Crescendo makes no guarantees about the outcome of your job search based on AI recommendations
  • AI-generated content is provided as a tool to assist you, not as professional career advice

8. Intellectual Property

The Crescendo app, its design, logo, trademarks, and all non-user-generated content are owned by Crescendo and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use our branding without prior written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Device-Native Features: Features relying on device hardware, such as biometric authentication (Face ID, Touch ID) or local notifications, depend entirely on the security and functionality of your device's operating system.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Crescendo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of employment, loss of data, or loss of profits — arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $10 USD, whichever is greater.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the app's settings. Upon deletion, your data is removed per our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if you violate these Terms or if we determine your use poses a security or legal risk.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to binding arbitration in accordance with applicable arbitration rules.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
